Olivier Haas - associate professor, team lead for intelligent and transportation systems and 5G group leaderDr Olivier Haas is an associate professor and team leader for intelligent transportation systems and 5G within the Institute for Clean Growth and Future Mobility. His research involves modeling, control, optimization and simulation techniques applied to connected and autonomous vehicles (Assured Parking, UKCITE) and traffic management (iVMS, NextGen Highway). He is currently modeling traffic and wireless charging for Dynacov and managing a consultancy project on automated annotation of images and videos for autonomous vehicles.
Presentation of the DynaCov project
Wireless charging demonstrators have been implemented in a number of sites across the world. DynaCoV is investigating the feasibility of deploying Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer technology in the UK to support the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles and buses in particular. This presentation covers the traffic modelling and electrical modelling work on a case study site in Coventry which may become the UK’s first demonstrator. It shows how the benefit of Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer technology depends and relates to the location, the traffic, the vehicle mix as well as the market penetration of electric vehicles.
